Yesterday I took my daughters to the Skirmish show in Sidcup. I didn't have a great deal to buy and knowing the show was small I decided it was the perfect venue to take my youngest daughter to. This was her first show and she really enjoyed it - particularly the Dr Who
Dalek vs Cyberman game run by Medway Wargames Club. For obvious reasons I didn't take many pictures but here's what I did get:
Hmm. Lots of wargamers have daughters rather than sons. I put it down to the lead in the models.

Like that John, not a bad show to attend missed it this year as no other rejects were going and payday is this week also, good pictures as always Lee.
ReplyDeleteThanks for an excellent photo-report of SKIRMISH.
ReplyDeleteIt is a nice, friendly show, and there are usually some good bargains to be had ... as your daughter found out!
All the best,
Bob
Your little Padawan Learner has such great taste, I would have liked to have seen the Dalek & Cyberman skirmish myself.
ReplyDeleteHowever I am a bit concerned by the bag of skeletons, and the fact you now have a team of painters working for you. I fear the next game you GM we'll be very much out numbered.
I love it that you are such a cool father :)

John - The trick is to covert these girls into gamers at an early stage.
ReplyDeleteAngry Lurker - Postie managed to make it to the show. I even introduced him to the kids, although the little'un hid behind me when he showed up!
Bob - My Padawan Learner has an eye for a bargain, just like her mother!
djk - Drat, you've rumbled my secret plan! I'd have gotten away with it to if it hadn’t been for...
Nicole - I try to be Cool but sometimes my elder, teenage, daughter doesn't think I am. Mind you that hasn't stopped her copying all my CD's onto her iPod so I can't be that un-cool. In fact she brought her boyfriend to the show so she's as much as geek as me!!
That's standard for Postie, scares the crap out of adults too.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you all had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThe LOTR Hex are great sized figures. If you have any Heroscape terrain they the LOTR hexs are are just the right size.
